Dot Specification
NFPA 12A
Clause: 4-1.3
The Agent quantity and pressure of refillable containers shall be checked. If a container shows a loss in net weight of more than 5% or a loss in pressure (adjusted for temperature) of more than 10%, it shall be refilled or replaced
NFPA 12A
Clause: 4-1.4
All Hal on removed from refillable containers during service or maintenance procedure shall be collected for recycling.
NFPA 12A
Clause: 4-2.1
D.O.T, C.T.C, or similar design Halon 1301 cylinders shall not be recharged without a retest if more than 5 years have since the date of the last test and inspection elapsed. The retest may consist of a complete visual inspection.

1Any cylinder not exceeding two inches outside diameter and less than two feet in length is excepted from hydrostatic retest.
2 A cylinder in chlorine or sulfur dioxide service made before April 20, 1915, must be retested at 500 psi.
3 For cylinders not marked with a service pressure, see 173.301 (e)(1).
4 For CTC cylinders, see 173.301(i). The retest period for CTC cylinders authorized under 173.301(i) is the period specified in the table for the corresponding DOT specification cylinder.
